Nuclear Physics Division

The object of the Division shall be to assist the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in nuclear physics.

We define nuclear physics as the study of nuclei, their structure, disintegration, interactions and other properties, including the constituent parts of the nucleus and their interactions with one another and with nuclei and with the atomic environment.

Division activities include:

  • Organisation and approval of conferences and summer schools in this field of study and also furthering the exchange of scientists and students.

  • Recognition of outstanding achievements by giving a number of prestigious prizes and awards.

  • Publication of topical papers.

  • Furthering the exchange of scientists and students.
